Consultants make a difference with Chicago’s Department of Housing

With Kearney’s long-standing presence in Chicago (its home since 1926), the firm has always been committed to supporting the local community. In recent years, Kearney had the unique opportunity to help the Chicago Mayor’s Office design and optimize the newly formed Department of Housing. A team of consultants spent two months working alongside policy experts and local officials to review the department’s organizational structure and identify key activities to help deliver greater impact to the city.

Since completing the project, Kearney’s relationship with the Mayor’s Office has continued under the recently elected Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s new administration. This project was—and is—extremely fulfilling as a strong Department of Housing can lead to greater stability for families and communities, and we’re hopeful about seeing similar results in Chicago.
