Andrew Stewart is Kearney’s UK and Ireland managing partner, and leads its Northern and Eastern Europe unit covering teams in the Nordics, Benelux, and Eastern Europe. Andrew has worked as a consultant in financial services for over 30 years, predominately in the UK, Europe, and the US.

He has extensive experience in advising clients on strategy and transformations at banks, insurers, and asset managers to improve service and risk, and reduce cost, delivering results for customers and shareholders.

Andrew’s recent client work includes the following:

Led strategy for a mid-tier UK bank, and led subsequent transformation to deliver significant improvement in ROTE (return on tangible equity) from low single digit to mid-20s
Led strategy for a mid-tier UK bank, and then led restructure to improve proposition, increase revenue, and dramatically reduce cost, turning loss-making bank into profit
Led global financial services strategy for world’s largest online retailer, and has supported many retailers with their financial services strategies
Led many European strategies for world’s largest card scheme, and has led payment strategies at many of world’s largest payment companies
Led strategy to rethink a bank’s operating model and reduced CIR (cost-to-income ratio) to below 40%
Led many business and operational strategies for insurers, life and pensions providers, and investment management companies
Led over 40 operational outsourcing transactions
Led many programs to re-platform banking operations

Andrew started his career in Accenture then formed a new consultancy, Troika, that focused on retail financial services. Troika became a leading consultancy in UK financial services specializing in advice on strategy, distribution, and operations across retail banking, insurance, and investment management sectors. In 2007 Troika was sold to Navigant Consulting and the team became the UK financial institutions team for Navigant. In 2009 Andrew became the global head of financial institutions for Navigant. He joined Kearney in 2013.
