Every consultant blazes their own trail to the profession, but Eulalia Sanín’s path has been especially distinctive. Originally hired to work for Kearney’s Global Business Policy Council after earning her Master’s in international relations and international economics at the Johns Hopkins University Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies, she has worked for the firm on three continents and played a critical role in establishing Kearney’s robust practice in Colombia.

“Kearney has allowed me to do what I personally have wanted to do throughout my career. I worked in DC, then moved to the London office to help develop the global government practice when my husband began working on his PhD there,” Eulalia says. “After that we moved to Colombia, where I did business development work for the firm while establishing my own boutique consulting business that ultimately merged with Kearney in 2016.”

An investor and entrepreneur, Eulalia thrives on learning, getting to know people, and overcoming complex challenges. “I minored in conflict management, which helped me to develop the skills that have been most useful in my career,” she explains. “Mediation and negotiation skills help you find solutions to complex, difficult situations. I think I bring a differentiated set of skills and point of view that complement those of our more analytical or operations-focused consultants.”

Eulalia is the proud mother of two teen daughters, both of whom have impressed her with their keen business acumen and insights. She enjoys coaching and mentoring budding entrepreneurs, serves on the boards for Valores Industriales, Grupo Familia, and Proantioquia, and is an active mentor of the Endeavor Foundation and the Family Business Network.

“People have told me they can’t believe that I’ve found the time to do everything that I have. I enjoy learning more than anything else, and this career allows me to constantly do so,” says Eulalia. “I love that Kearney has allowed me to craft my own path. I’ve never been told ‘No.’ It’s always been ‘Okay, how do we get this done?’”
