Roles and specialist practices - Australia
As a business analyst, you are a talented problem solver who is ready to immediately contribute to the client team. Typical responsibilities include developing models, performing complex analyses and working on both on- and offsite research. Most business analysts join us immediately after graduating college with undergraduate degrees in fields that include business, engineering and arts. Others join after gaining industry experience elsewhere, studying abroad or pursuing graduate work in areas other than business. In addition to a strong academic record, the relevant attributes for a business analyst include being a team contributor and having excellent problem-solving abilities, exceptional communication skills, strong quantitative skills and personal maturity.
Applications for the role of business analyst open in January of each year with interviews taking place in early- to mid-March. Successful applicants typically join in the following year after completing their degree.
Kearney’s internship program offers you the opportunity to experience management consulting in a uniquely collegial way. Our 10-week summer program and 5-week winter program begin with an orientation of your local office, followed by training where you will learn the necessary tools and methodologies required for success in management consulting. You will be assigned a mentor who will stay actively engaged with your project manager, and together they will offer continuous support and guidance throughout the program. As a business analyst intern, together with your project team, you will develop models, perform complex analyses and work on data-gathering assignments, both at client sites and in the office. Typically, interns travel to the client sites whilst on assignment to work side-by-side with our clients and client teams.
Applications for our winter internship program open in April, with successful interns commencing in late June. Our summer internship program’s applications open in July with successful interns commencing in November and finishing up in February the following year prior to the university year starting.
Applicants must be available to work in Australia at the time of the internship.
